It’s back! Hello everyone. Welcome to my first Gaming Landscape in almost a year. After attempting to replace this with a new feature, Thoughts On, I’ve decided to stick with this format as it worked for me for a very long time. The only change is that I won’t be as strict with my rules as I was before. However, for you the reader, it should be the same as it’s always been. If you’re new here, this is an blog post where I talk about the games I’ve been playing and my impressions of them. So without further delay, here are the games I played between January 1st and January 23rd, 2016: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Dash, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. I played a lot of games this past month, though I didn’t stick to most of them. So instead of the usual format of separating the games with a title and giving each game a paragraph, I’m just going to write about them in the same paragraphs in a casual conversation. After all, this is supposed to be a casual post about the games I’ve been playing. I might keep it this way in the future but I’ll see how this does. I’ll still bold the names of the games I’ve been playing so you can see them easily. Also, sorry for no picture. I couldn’t figure out how to cram all these games into one image. Alright, on with the Gaming Landscape!
Peace and love, gamers and players. Colorwind here, and seeing how well my last Sonic music post went, I decided to post some more Sonic music that I like. Once again, these aren’t my favorite or anything. I just picked five tracks that I like and put them in no particular order. Continue reading “I Love Sonic Music! Part 2!!”→
Peace and love, gamers and players. I’m currently working on an article about Sonic the Hedgehog and it had me thinking about the music of Sonic games. So I decided to do a quick post with some examples of my favorite songs from the Sonic series.
Holy crap. Ho-ly crap. HO-LY FUCK-ING CRAP! I played 24 GAMES THIS WEEK! I didn’t even photoshop a photo because there’s JUST TOO MANY! Now, I’ll be honest. Almost none of them were for very long but still. Part of the reason for this is I was in a retro mood and played a lot of Sega Genesis games. However, games back then tend to be very short so there was a lot of play a game for a half an hour, move on to the next. So lets just jump into it because this might be long even though I’m not going to spend a lot of time on any of these games.
Man did I play a lot of games this past week. 15 to be exact! I played more Pokémon X, mostly just leveling, super training and petting my Pokémon. My Bulbasaur evolved into an Ivysaur so yay. I tried to play more Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver but I’m stuck again so I didn’t get far. I popped in Injustice: Gods Among Us for some online matches and I went through the story mode with Ares. I popped in Prince of Persia HD Trilogy and played more of Sands of Time. I’m around 3/4 of the way through the game. I gave Final Fantasy XIII a try again and made some progress with doing the Cie’th Stones or whatever they’re called. I’ve completed three of them, which is better than none so that’s progress at least. Not very fun, though. Continue reading “My Gaming Landscape [October 29, 2013]”→
So I’m watching the Giant Bomb Quick Look of Sonic Lost World. It’s coming out at the end of the month and as a big Sonic fan, I wanted to check out the latest in the series since I wouldn’t be able to play it since I don’t have a Wii U. Almost immediately, I noticed an issue with the gameplay that has plagued Sonic game for some time now: inertia. When Sonic runs and jumps and you let go of the analog stick or d-pad, Sonic loses the forward momentum he had while running way too quickly.
