Heavily electronic-influenced alternative music with some pop melodies as well as some hard rock moments. Many songs are well crafted pop songs with catchy melodies like “Surviving Ain’t Living” and “Get Real”. However, some are a bit too similar to other stronger songs such as “Basic” and “Gotta Get Up” resulting in the middle of the album being a bit of a drag. Slower tracks are often highlights like “Bring Me Down” and the closer “You’ll Be Fine”. The electronic sound is integrated much better than in his previous work, making for a more natural and more organic sound. Unfortunately, the result is a lack of anything that truly stands out as exceptional, despite the solid songwriting. Overall, a solid if standard release.
