An exhaustive release on one of the greatest albums ever released. The album itself is obviously a must buy, but to be specific to this release, the new stereo mix is a big leap from the original and makes this worth a purchase or re-purchase if you already have the album. The session takes, mono mixes, and the inclusion of Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane however, are not as revelatory. This stuff is only for the hardcore fans as there’s nothing here that stands out as an intriguing take that differentiates from the final songs. Also, there’s other ways to get Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, and the album in Mono. Definitely get the standard release, which is also available digitally, streaming, and on vinyl as well as CD, but the Super Deluxe Edition is only for the most diehard of hardcore fans, especially for the asking price of $149.99.
