AFI: AFI (The Blood Album) MINI-REVIEW

Format: Studio Album, Long Play (LP)

Genre: Punk Rock, Alternative Rock, Goth Rock

Length: 46:34

Label: Concord Records

Media Types: Digital, Streaming, CD, Vinyl

Release Date: January 20th, 2017

The hardcore punk / emo goth veterans are sounding a bit long in the tooth. The compositions sound underdeveloped, the performances are lackluster, and singer Davey Havok sounds unenthused. In fact, the whole album is a slog, with no personality or vitality. I guess “White Offerings” and the chorus for “Pink Eyes” are the exception. Maybe. A disappointingly boring listen.
