My Nintendo 64 Quest

SONY DSCSo last week, while waiting for my new TB hard drive for my PS3, I got it into my mind that I would start to build up my N64 library. I’ve always wanted to do this since I have some old consoles and I would like to get a lot of games for them, namely games I like. I chose the N64 first, honestly, because I don’t like that many games for that system and my collection will be complete sooner rather than later.

My Gaming Landscape [November 19th, 2013]

No, I didn’t get a PS4 so I didn’t play any of those games. Actually, I’ve been pretty lost this past week. I’ve been mostly passing by games, playing them for a few minutes then moving on because I didn’t know what I wanted to play. I did get into a N64 kick though this weekend so I passingly played Cruis’n USA, WWF Warzone, Killer Instinct Gold and WWF Wrestlemania 2000. Wrestlemania 2000 pissed me off actually because in the career mode, there’s a big spike in difficulty when you get to the first PPV event. I lost like nothing because my opponent kept blocking and countering everything. What made it worst is it was a character I had beaten like four times already!

Colorwind Beats ► Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (SNES) | Episode 5 “Pwned”

Part 5 of my playthrough of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System via the SNES9x emulator. I begin the second world…badly, but it all works out in the end and I finish level 2-1. Originally a Colorwind Plays video, I went back to the Colorwind Beats format later. Old School: My PS3 Memories

playstation3c

The PS3’s moment in the sun is finally coming to an end, as it’ll no longer be the newest console on the market. While there are still games coming to the PS3, no more is it the focus of video game sites or even its parent company Sony. Therefore, it’s time to share some of my memories of the console. This is interesting because I’ve had three PS3 over the course of its lifetime, none for very long.

My Gaming Landscape [November 12, 2013]

I had another week of playing random games a little bit at a time so lets get started. I finished Assassin’s Creed on the PC. The last memory block and the ending was terrible but for some reason, I still feel really good about completing it. The game itself was pretty fun so that’s probably why. After that, I wanted to play some first person shooters so I loaded up Modern Warfare 2 and I did okay for the half hour I played. Something about that game just doesn’t appeal to me, even though I had a decent time playing. I haven’t come back to it since so there you go.

Discussing: My Issues With Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Next Gen

xbox-one-vs-ps4-controllers

The next generation of consoles is nearly upon us. The PlayStation 4 will be out in about a week’s time and the Xbox One will be release a week after and everything with video gaming will revolve around these two consoles. However, while I will be reading up on the wonders of next gen and the problems that inevitably brings, I won’t be joining the next gen. At least not yet.

Colorwind Beats ► Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (SNES) | Episode 4 “Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy”

Part 4 of my playthrough of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System via the SNES9x emulator. I make my way through the infamous Fuzzy level and complete World 1. Alas, I do not manage 100% on all the levels. But don’t you worry, I will. Originally a Colorwind Plays video, I went back to the Colorwind Beats format later. Colorwind Beats ► Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (SNES) | Episode 3 “Awesome Egg Skills”

Part 3 of my playthrough of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System via the SNES9x emulator. Levels 1-5 and 1-6 get dominated and although I die for the first time, I redeem myself by showing off my awesome egg skills. By that I mean throwing them. You just gotta have eggs. Originally a Colorwind Plays video, I went back to the Colorwind Beats format later. Continue reading “Colorwind Beats ► Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (SNES) | Episode 3 “Awesome Egg Skills””
