My Gaming Landscape [October 29, 2013]

My Gaming Landscape

Man did I play a lot of games this past week. 15 to be exact! I played more Pokémon X, mostly just leveling, super training and petting my Pokémon. My Bulbasaur evolved into an Ivysaur so yay. I tried to play more Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver but I’m stuck again so I didn’t get far. I popped in Injustice: Gods Among Us for some online matches and I went through the story mode with Ares. I popped in Prince of Persia HD Trilogy and played more of Sands of Time. I’m around 3/4 of the way through the game. I gave Final Fantasy XIII a try again and made some progress with doing the Cie’th Stones or whatever they’re called. I’ve completed three of them, which is better than none so that’s progress at least. Not very fun, though. Continue reading “My Gaming Landscape [October 29, 2013]”

Colorwind Plays ► Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind (SNES)

In this edition of Colorwind Plays, I play for your amusement Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and explain why this once next great platformer destined to rub elbows with Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog is a frustrating and tedious game. Recorded via the SNES9x emulator.

Old School: My First PS2 Memory

The PlayStation 2 turned 13 this past Saturday and I thought I would share my first memory of the console. My first memory of the console was actually from my older cousin. At the time, I was living with my grandparents and my cousin was living there too as he had got a job near where our grandparents were and was staying there until he got his own place. While he was gone during the day at work, I would sneak into his room and play his consoles.

Colorblind ► Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PC) {The Revenge!}

Originally a Colorwind Plays video. On this edition of Colorblind, I give Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver on the PC via Steam a chance again, this time with a controller, but wind up getting horribly lost several times.

My Gaming Landscape [October 22, 2013]

My Gaming Landscape

This is going to be quick as I didn’t play very many games this past week simply because I was busy with work and work took extra long due to me still being a little sick. I played a little bit of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme 3D but not much. It was mostly me finding heart pieces and gold skulltula and going through the Lost Woods. Seriously, over the week I played about two hours. Not much at all.

Colorblind ► Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PC)

Originally a Colorwind Plays video. In this edition of Colorblind, I pop in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver on my PC via Steam and see how a game about vampires and wraiths from 1999 holds up in 2013.

Discussing: Sonic the Hedgehog and the Inertia Problem

So I’m watching the Giant Bomb Quick Look of Sonic Lost World. It’s coming out at the end of the month and as a big Sonic fan, I wanted to check out the latest in the series since I wouldn’t be able to play it since I don’t have a Wii U. Almost immediately, I noticed an issue with the gameplay that has plagued Sonic game for some time now: inertia. When Sonic runs and jumps and you let go of the analog stick or d-pad, Sonic loses the forward momentum he had while running way too quickly.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne | Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC) #16 | Colorwind Beats

Colorwind Beats ► Deadpool (PC) | Episode 8 “I Put My Boots in This Boot So I Can Stomp You”

Part 8 of my playthrough of Deadpool for the PC. We finally finish off the Genosha level with a big boot and some horrible frame rate issues (probably my PCs fault). Continue reading “Colorwind Beats ► Deadpool (PC) | Episode 8 “I Put My Boots in This Boot So I Can Stomp You””

Why Wii U When 3DS?

So I’m not going to get a Wii U as previously planned. There were several reasons for this decision. The delay of Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Rayman Legends being just as good on other platforms, and realizing that some of the games I wanted for the system, like Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros U and Lego City Undercover, just aren’t worth it. I’m aiming for my birthday in March now.
