My Gaming Landscape [September 3, 2013]

This week, I played some more Borderlands 2. I’m enjoying it still but I’m starting to get a little bored with it. It’s still fun but it’s getting predictable. I’m level 14 so far and I’m trying to get Roland back from the Bloodshots. I’ll keep playing but I need something to happen to diversify it again.

I also played Proteus on the PC. That game is so amazing. I wrote a review for it on Gaming Precision and it’s really artsy. It’s hard to describe as you are simply roaming around a pixelated island and exploring but it really succeeds in making you experience the place rather than interacting with it. It’s only $10 bucks and I really recommend it.

I played some of the campaign for Battlefield 3. Not too much, only the first mission essentially. That game’s campaign, anyway, is not very compelling. You’re basically just shooting people and interacting with things with no real compelling motive to do so. Maybe I just need to play more.

I played some more Papers, Please. There’s some sort of organization causing trouble now and they’re trying to get me to join their group or something. Also, my family is dying on me. That’s not great. Still enjoyable though and still a great game.

Finally, after a conversation with friends about MMOs, I decided to give DC Universe Online a try and created a character and went through the tutorial level. That game is a lot of fun. I like how you control your character directly and the character customization options are fairly diverse. However, I was playing on the PC. That’s not the ideal way to play. So I downloaded the game on my PS3 and I think I’ll play it on there from now on.

That’s everything I played. Kind of a slow week. I was kinda busy and I ended up hanging out with friends and not playing anything Labor Day weekend. What did you end up playing?
