A New BlazBlue Appears

I’ve been wanting to blog about this for awhile. Earlier this year, I played a BlazBlue title for the first time for review for the previous site I wrote for, PixlBit. I played Continuum Shift Extend and I was blown away. I had to return the game but I picked up the first iteration in the series, Calamity Trigger, and have loved it. The BlazBlue series is essentially the only fighting game series I look forward to and will support fanatically with no real reason. Continuum Shift II on the 3DS? I’m gonna get it. I don’t care if it’s just the same game on the consoles. Continuum Shift Extend on the Vita? I’ll try to get it as well AND the console version!

Which brings us to the announcement of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma. First off, the subtitle sounds like an amalgamation of Chrono Trigger and Tales of Phantasia. Second, YAY! The storyline is going to continue from Continuum Shift and the character sprites have been redone. I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here (yes, I pay attention to the story in fighting games) and I am REALLY looking forward to see how the characters look. I love the art style of the game but I would like to see some new art. Three new characters are going to be introduced and I hope all of the characters that have been in the past two games (and their updates) come back. Especially Tsubaki. That’s my favorite character.

There’s been a few new mechanic changes to the gameplay but I haven’t seen then in action. Oh well. This is a small post and I just wanted to express my love for BlazBlue and my anticipation for the new game. Here’s the announcement trailer.

You talking to me? Are you...talking to me?
