Oh my God. What is up, my brothers in arms. It’s been two weeks but I’m back. In case you were wondering where I’ve been busy with my time as of late, I will inform you that I have moved to another location. A new home in the town next to the one I previously occupied. As such, I took a break from my blogging duties to relocate my possessions and return them to order. All has gone according to plan. Now no one can stop me. Not even…Austin Powers. Muahahahahaha. Muahahahahaha. MUAHahahahaha. MUAHAHAHAHAHA. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
I’m not sure if that came along well but there you go. So yes. I’m back and it feels good. Posting again on PixlBit and being in the loop is where I belong. While I was moving I didn’t play many games. Again, I was mostly busy unpacking and getting situated. However, I did start up again this weekend and managed to beat Ratchet & Clank for the first time.
Quick mini review: Graphics are great and colorful and every world feels lived in and well designed. Gameplay is really simple and fun but a bad camera, lack of lock on for the weapons, and a bad Quick Select menu, as well as some loose platforming controls keep this from being great. The characters are well animated, designed and acted and the humor is great cartoony fun even if the story itself is pretty thin. Weapons are only about half great, with some like the Tesla Claw and Suck Cannon prove to be great but others like the Walloper and Visibomb Gun are worthless. On the IGN Scale: 7.5. On the PixlBit Scale: 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.
Anyways, I’m also starting Half-Life 2 for our new upcoming Podcast on PixlBit, Backloggers Anonymous. The name may change. Half-Life 2 is a game that those on the podcast haven’t played yet we all own. I’ve gotten started on the game but so far I find it to be kind of meh. I really hate those weird creatures things that hang on the ceiling and catch you with what I’m hoping is their tongue. Ewww! Disguisting!
Other than that, I’m just trying to get all the skill points and Gold Bolts in Ratchet & Clank, get the remaining stars in Super Mario Galaxy, which I beat about two and a half weeks ago, before moving, and tomorrow I’ll be picking up Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando since it’s cheap ($5.99 at GameStop) and I enjoyed the first one enough to want to play the next one. Also, Chessa from PixlBit did a great series of reviews on the site that motivated me to pick of the first one and the remainder of the series along the way.
Well, that’s all for today. I hope you caught my Sonic feature that ran while I was gone. I did a let’s play of Sonic Adventure and went through Sonic’s quest in the game. There’s also a feature where the PixlBit staff shares their memories of Sonic and Jason from PixlBit reviewed Sonic Generations. I’ll catch you IGNers later. Peace and Love, CoLoRWinD aka Esteban Cuevas aka Big Cuevas!
