It’s summer. It’s hot. Too hot to go outside. Unless you have a pool nearby or money to go on vacation, many gamers will stay inside with the air conditioning on and play games. Summer also sees a lull in game releases so many will use the summer as time to play games they missed the first time.
How many of you like to play older gamers? I mean old games, like N64 or even NES? Some feel that at this point, games this old are too old and shouldn’t be played. I personally enjoy older games more than newer games for the most part. Even old games that weren’t that great, like Cool Spot for the Genesis, feels better than only okay games like Beautiful Katamari.
Personally I have to play old games, sort of. My household right now is extremely tight on money right now and as such, I actually don’t own a 360, Wii or PS3. All I’ve been able to do is whenever we get some loose money, I will buy an old system and old games. I currently own a Sega Genesis, an NES and an Nintendo 64. The old new games I play is whatever I can get to run on my nearly six year old computer.
However, I’m not complaining. I love playing through Dragon Warrior or Vectorman or WWF Warzone. So I ask, how many of you like to play old school video games? Do you do it throughout the year or during a certain time, like summer? If not, why not? Do you feel differently about games that have been re-released in some way, like on Virtual Console or updated like Ocarina of Time 3D?
